Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook Private Household, Buckland £36,000 - £40,000 (pro rata) Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM Start Date: As soon as possible We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and child-friendly Housekeeper/Cook to support a busy family in their private home. The household consists of a mother, father and two young children. The ideal candidate will be proactive, trustworthy, and able to manage daily housekeeping tasks efficiently. In addition to keeping the home clean and organised, you will be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious evening meals for the family, which will be reheated later in the day. Breakfast and lunch will be taken care of by the mother. This role is perfect for someone looking for part-time hours, with weekends free for family time. Key Responsibilities: General housekeeping duties, including but not limited to: Cleaning and tidying bedrooms, bathrooms, reception rooms, and the kitchen Dusting, vacuuming, and mopping floors Laundry and ironing (as needed) Organising and maintaining the annexe (currently used for storage) Preparing nutritious dinners Monday to Friday for the family to heat up in the evenings (menu to be discussed with the family) Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen after meal preparation Managing household supplies and reporting any replenishment needs Working closely with the mother to ensure the smooth running of the household Occasional light errands or household tasks as requested Childcare Support: Although direct childcare is not the primary responsibility, the candidate must be comfortable around children and able to interact positively with them Must be mindful of maintaining a safe and child-friendly environment Requirements: Previous experience in housekeeping and/or cooking roles within private households preferred A strong understanding of household cleaning techniques, organisation, and attention to detail Ability to prepare healthy, balanced meals and cater to the family’s preferences Good interpersonal skills and the ability to take initiative.
