Description United Utilities have awarded Costain a Managed Service Provider (MSP) framework contract. Under the contract Costain provide the overall management and delivery of United Utilities’ larger-scale water and wastewater asset maintenance projects across the entirety of its network, including 96 water treatment and 575 wastewater treatment sites, which serves over six million people in the Northwest of England. Projects will range in value from £20k to £2m. You will be working within the wider MSP area teams engaging with United Utilities to understand their needs and identify robust and efficient solutions. This will include scope development, supporting tendering / procurement and managing subcontractor delivery and commissioning both at their locations through manufacture, and on-site during installation and commissioning. Throughout this you will be supporting the development of programmes and budgets and once in delivery managing works aligned to these whilst also proactively monitoring safe and high-quality delivery. You will be able to communicate and engage with a variety of stakeholders confidently and maintain relationships with all stakeholders and partners (from internal teams to secure specialist inputs, site operators, Client teams and supply chain partners). LI-BM1 Responsibilities Proactively promote health, safety and wellbeing in every aspect of design and delivery. Manage subcontract packages, including scope development, tendering, design, installation and handover, inclusive of all necessary coordination. Responsible for adherence to MSP project-specific governance and associated documentation requirements Co-ordinate the construction phase delivery with the support of the wider MSP Framework team, to develop compliant, safe, considered solutions and address technical challenges. Champion high quality delivery from the outset; developing processes, systems and initiatives to drive a high quality right first-time culture through the team. Provide accurate and timely project performance reports, ensuring projects are on track and contract requirements are met Work closely with the PM, Operations Managers, HUB Operations and Design Manager to ensure efficient use of resources, framework efficiencies and customer satisfaction 100% SHEQ compliance with the Framework SHE Management procedures, including ownership of individual project HASEMPs and associated safe systems of work Work in close collaboration with UU project and operational teams, to develop each project and coordinate site delivery and handover in conjunction with the relevant UU processes and procedures Act in the capacity of Person Coordinating the Works (PCW) to fulfil a key role within the UU Works Authorisation process for site construction Qualifications Previous experience preferably in the water industry in a multi-project delivery role Skills, knowledge, and experience of CDM, Construction Management and Design, in particular in the role of Principal Contractor during site delivery Technical understanding of Water and Wastewater treatment Strong project Management, People and Leadership Skills Good problem-solving skills, able to provide solutions Good understanding of site delivery and buildability Flexibility and adaptability to be able to respond rapidly to unexpected events in a fast-paced environment Proven track record of managing different contractual arrangements, competitive tender HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline SMSTS qualification (or equivalent) CSCS card Driving licence
