About the team and the role The Commercial Development team consists of Commercial Strategy, Pricing and Promotions, Seasonal Events and Trade Operations and Partnerships and Commercial Excellence, who together support the trading team to deliver our commercial targets. This role reports into the Director of Commercial Development and is a key member of the wider Commercial Development team. The Partnerships and Commercial Excellence team is made up of: Partnerships Lead supported by Commercial Optimisation Manager and Strategic Partnerships Associate Supplier Relationships Senior Associate Commercial Excellence Manager supported by a Trading Project Manager We’re looking for a commercial leader, ideally with experience of working in retail and a track-record of managing strategic partnerships. The breadth of the role would suit either a generalist or provide an experienced buyer with new, complementary skill set to help take their career to the next level. What you’ll do Partnerships: Managing our relationship with Marks & Spencer: Managing the delivery of the M&S range onto Ocado.com Working with the trading teams to optimise commercial performance of M&S products Working with other functions to coordinate and track other projects between M&S and Ocado including Supply Chain, sourcing and marketing Brands: Developing and running our challenger brand community and events Delivering our annual supplier conference and other key events Commercial Excellence: Programme management of strategic initiatives across the commercial function, ensuring that each of the various teams are working effectively together and delivering their strategic objectives Leading, from inception to roll-out, commercial wide projects such as the delivery of the Trading Systems Transformation programme - including launching new operational systems and enhanced ranging & supplier set-up processes Shaping and coordinating internal and external communications across the commercial team including commercial away days Run change management programmes for key new initiatives impacting the trading team Who you are Experience in commercial leadership, buying, management consulting or retail strategy roles. Ideally with experience of managing strategic partnerships and / or change programmes Proven experience leading projects, taking ownership and delivering strong customer and commercial outcomes Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of structuring and analysing complex problems.
