The Role
We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the academic, emotional, and physical development of our pupils, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and education.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with complex needs, including those with autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.
Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans.
Support pupils with personal care needs, such as toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance.
Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering confidence and independence in pupils.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver tailored support for pupils.
Monitor and report on pupils’ progress and well-being to the teaching staff and parents.
Manage challenging behavior in line with the school’s policies and strategies, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Engage with pupils in creative and sensory activities to stimulate learning and development.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Passionate about working with children with SEN and committed to making a difference.
Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with the ability to adapt to different needs and situations.
Skilled in effective communication and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
Physically able to perform the duties associated with personal care and mobility assistance.
Essential Requirements
Previous experience working with children with SEN and/or complex needs is highly desirable.
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) or willingness to undertake training.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
