The Role
At SBC, College Tutors are at the heart of what we do, delivering high-quality, inclusive lessons in their specific subject areas to students passionate about learning. They inspire students to grow in confidence and equip them with essential 21st-century communication skills. Tutors also support the delivery of industry experience sessions and collaborate with guest speakers, enriching students' understanding and sparking curiosity.
The Subject
Our SBC Faculty of Science & Technology course provides students with an engaging introduction to natural sciences and design technology. As a tutor, you will guide students through core topics in STEM, using interactive lectures, seminars, and hands-on workshops. The course culminates in a “Time to Shine” ceremony, showcasing projects that encourage further exploration of the subject.
The Site
Located in Cambridge, our program combines academic courses with professional experiences, allowing students to explore the city and participate in social events.

Main Duties
* Familiarize with the SBC syllabus and materials during induction
* Deliver lessons using the SBC syllabus
* Cultivate a student-centred learning environment
* Set projects as guided by the SBC syllabus
* Cater to individual needs, ensuring student benefits
* Review students' work, mark assignments, provide feedback
* Handle administrative tasks like maintaining class lists
* Ensure a positive classroom atmosphere
* Attend morning meetings with the Director of Studies
* Join CPD workshops
Safeguarding Responsibilities
* Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of students
* Complete online safeguarding training
* Be alert to signs of abuse and neglect
General Duties
* Maintain student welfare and order at the site
* Encourage student engagement in the programme
* Follow Health and Safety guidelines
* Interact with students in a friendly and professional manner
