This is an exciting opportunity to be a core contributor to the development of our
successful and innovative school. We are an inclusive school and sixth form, and
have students attend from across London and the surrounding areas. We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual who will add capacity and dynamism to our pastoral team in the secondary school and sixth form.
Purpose of the role:
Secondary transition coordinator:
* Coordinate the in year admissions, liaising with the Student Services Manager.
* Complete appeals form for any in year admissions we wish to take to Newhan pupil placement panel
* Coordinate managed moves into the school and to other schools including review and completion meetings.
* Coordinate the placement of students into alternative provision in other institutions.
* Coordinate the year 6 to year 7 transition programme
Pastoral Administrator:
Secondary school
* Support the Assistant Head with detention administration
Sixth form
* Supervise students in private study.
* Supervise sixth form students as they leave and enter the site during their lunchtime.
* Support the Senior Leadership team to lead and manage, and monitor attendance, punctuality, sixth form uniform and behaviour of the Sixth Form.
* Provide administrative support to the Head of Sixth Form and sixth form head of years.
* Communicate with parents/outside agencies by telephone/email on behalf of the Head of Sixth form and head of years.
* Produce letters and emails for students in detention. Maintain accurate student records, liaising with staff as appropriate.
* Provide administration support for the preparation of the Y12 and Y13 team meetings and Parents' evenings.
* Provide administrative support for Sixth Form trips using Evolve.
* Update the Sixth Form noticeboards
* Organise the Sixth Form admissions process, including interviews, offers and communication with applicants via the admissions system.
General:
* To undertake appropriate professional development including adhering to the principle of performance management.
* Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school To be a professional role model with a clear understanding of tolerance and the importance of diversity
* Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons s/he is responsible for, or comes into contact with.
* Observance of Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality, Code of Conduct, Health and
* Safety Policies and Internet Code of Practice will be required.
