Our client, a bespoke insurance company, is seeking an experienced Technical Claims Handler with a preferable commercial property claims background and possible legal litigation background. The ideal candidate will have experience with business interruption claims. This is a key role that involves supporting customers by expertly handling their claims. Key responsibilities: As a Technical Claims Handler, you'll be responsible for: Managing claims across our growing product suite. Talking to our customers throughout their claim journey. Instructing and collaborating with our claims partners, such as brokers, lawyers, investigators and assessors. Identifying, investigating and managing fraud concerns. Gathering and reviewing evidence. Setting claims reserves and making payments. Recording, analysing and presenting claims data. Acting as a subject matter expert across the business for commercial claims as we launch new products. Developing and managing relationships with claims partners, updating existing processes, and creating new ones. Suggesting and implementing improvements to our claims processes and procedures. Training and developing less experienced staff members. Varied tasks dependent on business needs; you'll be involved in adapting and taking on new responsibilities as our business evolves. Skills & Experiences: Experience in handling commercial claims across multiple products. A proven track record of working with multiple partners such as brokers, TPAs, lawyers, investigators, and loss adjustors. Expertise in managing claims fraud. Confidence in using a variety of digital platforms such as policy admin systems, claims management platforms, portals, data platforms, MS Office, etc. The ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced start-up environment. Experience with Property Claims These would be great but are not deal breakers: Experience in developing and managing claims supplier relationships. Experience in drafting policy documents, including wordings and summaries. Experience with business interruption claims.
