St Luke’s at Turnchapel requires a Catering Assistant to work in their busy kitchen and Driftwood café, providing nutritional meals to the patients in our Specialist Unit as well as snacks and meals in the Driftwood café, that serves visitors, families and staff. St Luke’s Hospice are proud to have gained 5 star standard from the environmental health for their kitchen and café, demonstrating the high standards they have for food hygiene, safety procedures, structural compliance, management of procedures and training records of the staff. As the successful candidate you will work as part of the team to meet deadlines and ensure the high standard of food is maintained. You will be expected to go on to the wards, talk to the patients and find out what they would like to eat, taking into account any special dietary requirements. To deliver and maintain the high standards at St Luke’s, the kitchen and café are manned between the hours of 9:30 and 18.30, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This is covered on a 4 day on, 4 day off, set rota - no evening work required. A degree of flexibility is required from the successful candidate Cook experience is desirable as there may occasionally be the opportunity to act up.
