A well-motivated, conscientious person is sought to work in a busy and developing Orthopaedic Outpatient Department. The post will allow the individual to enhance their existing knowledge in a varied clinical setting. Duties will include applying casts (training will be given), assisting with manipulations, carrying out various dressings, and dealing with pre- and post-op elective and trauma patients. Willingness to undertake the British Casting Course (BCC). A good communicator is essential.
The Orthopaedic Outpatient Department is constantly evolving with developments and added opportunities. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
* Take charge of a group of patients/clients with guidance and supervision, depending on experience.
* Coordinate the work of healthcare support workers, assistant practitioners, students, and preceptorship nurses.
* Supervise team members and participate in their education and development.
* Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information related to staffing, finances, and patients.
* Record patient property, ensuring compliance with policies and protocols.
* Participate in service development and contribute to team meetings.
* Use physical and financial resources effectively.
* Recognize own limitations and escalate issues to senior staff when necessary.
