The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Estimator to join our client's growing Commercial and Estimating team. You will be responsible for delivering accurate project estimates, collaborating closely with the project team, and ensuring that high-quality standards are upheld throughout the process. Ideally, you will come with expertise in Joinery and shopfitting. Working for a leader in its field alongside some of the UK's most reputable designers, architects, and contractors, this is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to contribute to large-scale projects while advancing their professional development with access to company formal training.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Detailed Cost Estimation: Prepare precise cost estimates for projects ranging from £100K to £10 million, ensuring they meet project specifications and budgets.
2. Project Collaboration: Work closely with the project team to assess requirements, provide budgets, and deliver timely quotations.
3. Specialized Pricing: Accurately price joinery works, demonstrating a thorough understanding of timber and joinery construction techniques.
4. Client Engagement: Participate in project meetings and client interviews, offering expert advice and representing the company with confidence.
5. Quality Assurance: Ensure all project estimates meet the highest quality standards and align with client expectations.
6. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the team to ensure all estimates are delivered efficiently and within deadlines.
7. Software Utilization: Use Excel and other estimating software to produce clear and well-structured budgets and cost plans.
8. Adaptability: Exhibit flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced project environments.
9. Attention to Detail: Maintain excellent organizational skills to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
Key Requirements:
1. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in estimating preferred, with a proven track record of pricing projects valued over £1 million.
2. Expertise: Strong knowledge of joinery and associated trades, particularly in timber and joinery techniques.
3. Industry Background: Experience in the fit-out or shop fitting sectors.
4. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Excel and estimating software, capable of generating accurate budgets efficiently.
5. Detail-Oriented: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
6. Team Player: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Client Confidence: Confident and professional in client interactions, including meetings and interviews.
8. Flexibility & Initiative: Highly adaptable, hardworking, and proactive in ensuring successful project delivery.
9. Relevant Background: A background or qualification in timber/joinery or a related field is highly desirable.
10. High-End Experience: Experience with high-end or bespoke joinery projects is an advantage.
