The successful candidate will have a background in Control Systems, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. They should also possess general knowledge and skills in data-driven engineering, including machine learning techniques and experience with implementations using the Robot Operating System (ROS). Ability to successfully undertake undergraduate and postgraduate supervision.
Main duties of the role include:
1. Conduct research projects
2. Responsible for the management of projects
3. Develop and initiate collaborative working internally and externally
4. Demonstrate evidence of own personal and professional development
5. Supervision and support of colleagues within project teams
You will be experienced in working with complex and technical computer software packages relative to the subject matter. Evidence of a record in research and contributions of published works at national/international conferences and in peer reviewed journals within related scientific areas. Experience on deployment robotic systems in the field. ROS expert and programming skills in (at least) Python, C/C++. Experience on control systems implementation.
