Assistant Planner – Darlington
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Planner to join a well-established planning consultancy based in Darlington. This is an ideal role for a motivated graduate or someone in the early stages of their career, eager to grow their skills in a dynamic and innovative environment.
The Role
As a Planner, you'll collaborate with a team of experienced professionals to deliver high-quality planning advice and creative solutions to a wide range of clients. This position will provide you with practical experience across various projects, along with excellent opportunities for career progression and RTPI accreditation support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct site research, including reviews of planning history and policy analysis
* Assist in preparing planning applications, statements, and reports
* Draft application forms, cover letters, and supporting documentation
* Coordinate client meetings and presentations
* Maintain project documentation and correspondence
* Support senior colleagues in preparation for planning committees
* Stay updated on planning legislation and industry developments
About You:
* A master's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field
* Some experience in town planning (preferred but not required)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
* A proactive attitude toward professional development, including working toward
* RTPI accreditation
