Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure the associates are aware of day-to-day production targets and responsibilities Ensure work orders are completed on time and materials are continuously staged to ensure a steady rate of production Work to ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards Ensure that team members follow defined standard operating procedures and comply with quality requirements Ensure full adherence to 5S practices at all times Ensure equipment is within calibration date and all systems are functioning correctly Ensure all records are completed appropriately Ensure that non-conforming material is clearly identified and segregated Ensure that the escalation procedure for quality concerns is followed Assist with incident, accident and material non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure Monitor change over and/or line set up efficiency Prepare line set-ups for following shifts, to ensure parts are pre-staged and ready for production Monitor and maintain all safety equipment and tools Undertake continuous training and development Assist with performing root cause analysis and resolve problems Required Knowledge/Skills: Exercise considerable initiative/judgement in work methods and in interpreting and delegating work requirements/goals Work independently, reviewed infrequently with minimal supervision Ability to lead by example, gain respect from team and communicate with clarity while demonstrating excellence in approach to work and people activities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organization skills Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time Ability to plan, analyze and challenge Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality Understanding of production costs to include waste, downtime, and scrap. Education/Experience: High school diploma/GED required. 2 to 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience preferred with 1 to 3 years of prior team leader experience preferred. Physical Demands/Work Environment Typical workday would range from 50%-80% standing/walking. Lifting of up to 50 lbs. Required lifting is primarily moving boxes of filled cartridges from the end of packaging line, at waist level, onto pallet, from ground level to chest level, 1 to 2 steps from end of the line at a maximum frequency of about 7-8 boxes per hour. (No overhead lifting required). Piston insertion and hand labeling are manual processes that are repetitive. These tasks could be performed up to 80 times per hour for maximum continuous duration of 2 hours. There may be bending, stooping, stretching, reaching or carrying of light items such as papers, books small parts, etc. No special physical demands other than an average amount of dexterity are required to perform the work.
