About the role
Are you a seasoned Copywriter with a passion for Financial Services? Join our John Lewis Financial Services team as a Lead Copywriter and take ownership of developing and crafting exceptional copy for a wide array of projects. From impactful brand storytelling to effective direct response campaigns, you'll bring our brand to life through compelling language. In this role, you will demonstrate your understanding of tone of voice guidelines and your wider knowledge of communication and language to deliver exceptional campaigns, customer, brand and service copy with flair and authority across multiple touchpoints and subject matter. You will be the guardian of our brand and tone of voice guidelines, ensuring all our copy is on brand and compelling.
* Expected salary - up to £65,000 - £70,000
* Contract type - This position is a Permanent contract.
* Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The team aims for around 1 day a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings.
Key responsibilities
* Ensuring all copy adheres to Financial Promotions regulatory, legal, and compliance standards. This includes guaranteeing the copy is clear, fair, and not misleading to our customers.
* Reviewing and reimagining (where appropriate) our existing suite of communications across multiple channels and platforms.
* Proofreading and editing copy written by third parties and agencies.
* Responsible for ensuring all copy is compelling, on brand and in line with our tone of voice guidelines.
* Have best in class writing skills and advertising experience to deliver exceptional brand, direct response and service copy, with flair and authority across multiple channels and platforms.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
* Extensive proven experience of copywriting within a financial services organisation
* A solid understanding of Financial Promotions regulatory, legal and compliance standards
* Significant experience writing copy for brand marketing campaign, creative and service content, including for direct response campaigns
* Portfolio of work, including examples of cross-channel campaigns and concepting
* Experienced in writing for multiple channels and platforms
* Experience working as part of a creative team, either in-house or agency
* Experience leading a team (directly or indirectly) of copywriting professionals
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Experience using Figma, Asana or similar tools for collaboration and project management
