Are you a dynamic and proactive accountant seeking a new challenge? Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering with a reputable Kent-based business in their search for a talented Management Accountant to cover a 9–12-month maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy finance department and contribute to the smooth running of their finance function.
Your responsibilities as the Management Accountant will include:
1. Develop annual budget schedules, including detailed income and expenditure analysis.
2. Produce termly management accounts, offering comprehensive variance analysis and projections.
3. Identify and report significant variances, proposing corrective actions promptly.
4. Coordinate the annual closedown and prepare accurate outturn figures.
5. Support the audit process, preparing necessary working papers and files.
6. Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance departmental efficiency and financial accessibility across the organisation.
7. Maintain accounting systems daily, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of transactions.
8. Manage month-end processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
9. Analyse and reconcile control accounts monthly.
10. Assist in preparing and posting monthly payroll entries.
11. Assist in debtor management and debt recovery processes.
12. Support purchase ordering processes and ensure compliance with authorisation procedures.
13. Manage supplier relationships and ensure timely payment resolution.
14. Monitor service contracts and utility costs monthly.
15. Provide cost analysis and track expenditures against budgets.
16. Produce cash flow forecasts.
17. Manage bank accounts and optimise fund allocation.
18. Advise on investment policies and make recommendations to Stakeholders.
19. Maintain and depreciate assets in the Fixed Asset register.
20. Support with various projects when required.
To be considered for the role of Management Accountant:
21. CIMA/ ACCA/ACA qualified or part qualified.
22. A strong understanding of all financial and commercial matters
23. Excellent stakeholder management skills.
24. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
25. A practical, systematic and pragmatic approach to work whilst being able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
