We are seeking motivated individuals to join the Radiology Department at University Hospital Birmingham for the following position:
* Receptionist based at BHH/WHH (30 hours/week, Permanent Post)
* Hours: 8-2 / 2-8, Monday - Sunday (flexible working is required covering a 7-day service)
We are looking for individuals with experience in reception duties and liaising with staff, patients, and external agencies, such as GPs and Dentists. Provide patients with support, non-clinical advice, and information on a range of issues including appointment queries.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Be the first point of care for service users.
2. Meet and greet patients, checking/updating demographics if required.
3. Notify patients of new or changes to appointments.
4. Be sympathetic and sensitive to the requirements of staff, patients, and other service users when communicating by telephone or face-to-face, including dealing with difficult situations, e.g., aggressive or demanding behaviour, escalating conflict situations where necessary.
Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount. Candidates should also be flexible and confident in prioritising their workload and should have experience in NHS clinical systems such as CRIS and Oceano, along with excellent communication skills.
