We are looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to support and improve the Yusen operation by assisting the Operations Manager and Shift Manager in the smooth running of the warehouse, while ensuring company and customer standards are consistently met. As a Team Leader you will also provide operational support during periods of holiday, absence and high volumes, including early shift cover.

We are offering a salary of £31,761.60 per annum and £2,000 Team Warehouse Supplement per annum. The shift pattern for this role is 3 weeks 8am – 5pm and 1 week 6am – 3pm.
Key responsibilities:
• Ensure all team members are fully trained to SWI’s, SSoW’s in a timely manner.
• Assign and monitor work to the team members, acknowledging and acting on performance whether meets/exceeds expectations or falls below expected standards.
• Manage the Inbound, Outbound and returns order requests in a prompt and efficient manner, ensuring that customer requests are achieved.
• Ensure that any issues with meeting expectations are communicated both within Yusen Logistics business and customer.
• Promote company H&S policy, processes ensuring that all near misses, accidents and Incidents are reported and investigated, and defects are identified, and the relevant
individuals notified.
• Deliver through briefings and day to day interaction effective communication to the team members, this will include daily shift briefs, performance of site/shift, assigning work,
issue resolution,
adhoc briefings and other team interactions.
• Continuously look to improve processes and procedures to drive efficiency and improvement in business operation and customer service.
Key requirements:
• Good level of English both written and verbal.
• Previous work experience leading a team.
• Good understanding of general warehouse functions and processes with broad experience.
• Operational experience of WMi AS400 would be advantageous.
• Awareness of Kaizen principles.
• Proven ability to interface with customers.
• Team player with previous leadership skills.
• IT – Outlook, Excel, Word.
• Ability to withstand pressure and work to tight deadlines.
• Good communicator.
• Adaptive/flexible to situations
