Job Title: Systems Accountant Location: Aberdeen Company: Harbour Energy Rate: Negotiable (PAYE) Purpose of the Role: Harbour Energy is seeking a Systems Accountant to provide vital systems support to our Finance team and broader organization, with a focus on ensuring security access and financial system integrity. This role will be pivotal in upholding compliance standards, supporting key finance processes, and contributing to ongoing system improvements. Key Responsibilities Systems Support & Compliance: Ensure that all tasks are conducted safely and adhere to Harbour Energy’s HSES Procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry legislation. Promote a culture of compliance and complete any necessary ethics training in line with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies. SAP & Financial Systems Management:Provide direct SAP support to the Finance function, addressing functional integrity and troubleshooting issues. Maintain master data creation standards and execute month-end processes in alignment with schedules. Oversee Systems Security by assigning appropriate access levels and ensuring compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA) and Segregation of Duties (SOD) policies. Conduct control reviews and continuous control monitoring to identify and mitigate potential risks. Process Optimization & Project Involvement: Collaborate with various departments on process enhancements that benefit financial system functionality. Actively participate in finance-related projects that impact systems, including integration projects. Support internal and external audits as required, providing systems data and insights to auditors. Additional Support: Engage in company-wide initiatives, especially in relation to System Integration projects. Undertake other tasks as instructed by the Line Manager to meet evolving business needs. Required Skills and Qualifications Technical and Industry Knowledge: Experience in the UK North Sea is essential. Solid background in financial systems with a focus on systems security and compliance. SAP experience and strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel. Analytical and Interpersonal Skills: Strong analytical abilities, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and system improvement. Exceptional interpersonal skills, comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels of the organization. Proven track record of service delivery and responsiveness to stakeholder needs in a dynamic environment. Organizational Abilities: Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities. Self-motivated, able to work independently, and committed to driving change and continuous improvement. Open, honest, and dependable, consistently producing high-quality work.
