What You Will Do: - Provide specialist mental health support to children and young people within the Youth Offending Team (YOT) population. - Conduct triage calls, clinical assessments, and risk assessments to inform care planning and intervention. - Implement evidence-based, short-term therapeutic interventions suitable for the needs of children and young people. - Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and deliver care pathways in alignment with the THRIVE Framework. - Offer consultation and training to YOT staff and other professionals to enhance understanding of mental health issues. - Manage cases effectively, ensuring timely and suitable interventions and referrals. - Undertake risk formulation and execute safeguarding and risk management strategies following local and national guidelines. - Support early intervention strategies aimed at reducing offending and reoffending among young people. - Cooperate with families, caretakers, schools, and other agencies to ensure holistic and coordinated care. - Maintain accurate and current clinical records adhering to professional and organisational standards. Person Specification: - Demonstrated experience working with children and young people with emotional, behavioural, or mental health difficulties. - Experience within youth justice or youth offending services is highly desirable. - Proficiency in conducting mental health and risk assessments. - Familiarity with safeguarding procedures, capacity, and consent issues, including Gillick competence. - Ability to deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or solution-focused brief therapy. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of professionals and agencies effectively. - Capacity to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
