HTT works with service users presenting in acute mental health crisis, preventing hospital admission and supporting early discharge from hospital. The service works closely with both the inpatient ward and Community Mental Health Team, all based at the Riverside Centre, Hillingdon Hospital. The service runs 7 days a week 8-8:30 PM 365 days a year.
Main duties of the job
The Team provides crisis response and assessment, and also acute home treatment to people with mental health problems at risk of admission to hospital. A psychologist will be expected to provide brief focused assessment and treatment to people with defined common mental health difficulties.
They will co-ordinate the care of patients of the HTT, and assist in the promotion of the use of evidence-based practice through the provision of clinical advice and support acting as a role model and providing education and training where appropriate. They will liaise closely with the Trustwide Single Point of Access / Central Flow Hub providing rapid response to mental health crisis situations where necessary and appropriate.
To participate in the implementation of professional and Trust-wide clinical policies.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a sound understanding of current government legislation, the ability to work as part of a MDT and provide high-quality care with evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

Essential
* Current Professional Qualification in mental health nursing/Occupational Therapy/Social Work/psychotherapy
* Evidence of ongoing CPD
* Registration must be live with a professional body.
Desirable
* ENB 812/998/SLICE
* Training in Psychosocial Interventions or Thorn
* Family Therapy/Work training
* Other relevant training, e.g., substance misuse
Experience
Essential
* Post-registration experience in a range of clinical areas
* Experience of working in multidisciplinary mental health team with clients with acute/severe and enduring mental health problems
Desirable
* Work with clients with acute/severe and enduring mental health problems who are homeless/rootless

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentations / IT skills.
* Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive care package for the identified client group, using a wide range of resources.
* Able to develop a comprehensive programme of intervention and support for the identified client group and their families
* Skills in risk assessment and management.
* Can demonstrate understanding of psychosis and its impact on service users and carers.
* Knowledge of current legislation and guidance applicable to this client group.
* Can demonstrate understanding of the needs of diverse groups, e.g., residents of inner city black and minority ethnic groups, and skills in engaging with them.
* Skills in psychosocial interventions.
