The School and Role
This ‘Good with Outstanding Features’ SEND school, based in North Tyneside, supports children and young people aged 2-19 and is looking to appoint a passionate supply Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to work with Key Stage 1 or 2 pupils.
Working in this Primary SEND school as part of an established team, the desired supply Primary SEN Teaching Assistant will be working on a small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Autism, MLD, SLD, ADHD, PMLD, Physical Disabilities, Sensory Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).
You will assist the class teacher with supporting teaching and learning, leading small group and 1:1 interventions as well as assisting pupils with their individual needs including personal care. You will be responsible for behaviour management as well as supporting the progress of pupils, liaising with staff and parents and participating in weekly CPD sessions.
