Climate17 is proud to partner with a leading global property management firm to recruit a Technical Assurance Manager - Heat Networks. This is a unique opportunity to drive the strategy, compliance, and performance of heat networks across a diverse UK property portfolio.
The Role:
You’ll lead the development and execution of a heat network strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, technical effectiveness, and value for clients and occupiers. You’ll work across teams including technical assurance, ESG, IT, and procurement to deliver best-in-class solutions for communal and district heating systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and deliver a UK- wide heat network strategy across commercial and residential portfolios
* Ensure full compliance with evolving regulations (incl. heat metering, billing, and HNTAS)
* Oversee supply chain performance in collaboration with procurement
* Act as the subject matter expert to internal teams and executive leadership
* Support IT in building tools to track compliance and performance
* Drive internal training and client engagement on heat network standards
* Seek and support funding opportunities (e.g., HNES)
Previous Experience:
The successful applicant is likely to display experience in or an aptitude for:
* Setting and delivering complex strategies across multiple teams/competencies
* The technical/operational and regulatory/compliance requirements associated to Heat Networks (district and/or communal)
* Delivering messaging to executive/board level team
* Creative problem solving and the ability to take decisions
* Establishing or managing supply chain and said performance of
What You’ll Need:
* Degree in Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of district and communal heat networks, technical systems (M&E), and CIBSE CP1
* Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver complex strategies across multi-functional teams
* Deep knowledge of heat network compliance, including metering, billing, and registration
* Confident engaging with executive stakeholders and clients
* Skilled in performance monitoring, auditing, and financial tracking (P&L)
* Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills
* Advanced in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
* Familiarity with the UK utilities and managing agent landscape ()
