Our Pensions Administration business continues to grow, and we are now looking for an enthusiastic Pensions Administrator to join our vibrant Newcastle office with hybrid working. This role would most likely suit someone with previous experience in a similar pensions administration role, where they have gained knowledge and experience of Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes and MS Office products.
The Role
As a Pensions Administrator with XPS, you will:
1. Update relevant pension administration databases and systems.
2. Log and scan post/correspondence.
3. Handle both Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) queries.
4. Receive and handle internal and external telephone queries.
5. Run automated systems calculations.
6. Perform manual benefits calculations.
7. Produce letters to 'draft standards' via Electronic Document Management system (EDM) in response to customer queries and arrange for them to be issued after checking.
8. Return original documentation and certificates to customers.
9. Amend and, with experience, develop into checking non-financial work e.g. change of address.
10. Develop a basic knowledge and awareness of their clients and associated schemes.
11. Assist the team with project-related work e.g. bulk mailshots to scheme members.
12. Work closely with other departments/teams both internal and external to the Company to provide a total service to our clients.
13. Ensure the accurate updating of time recording system (Virtual Office) for both chargeable and non-chargeable activities and meet required utilisation targets.
Your Profile
Essential Criteria
1. Previous Defined Benefit (DB) pension administration experience.
2. Good level of education with a minimum Grade 4/C in GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent.
3. Excellent organisational and planning skills.
4. Ability to work in advance of deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks.
5. Able to see projects/tasks through to completion within given timescales.
6. Willingness to learn.
7. Able to follow instructions, procedures, policies and assimilate information quickly in a consistent manner.
8. Able to take ownership and responsibility for own work.
