Tendering Engineer (Major Projects) Location : Wakefield Salary : £70,000 Job Overview : We are seeking a Tendering Engineer to join the Major Projects team. This role involves managing tenders for large-scale electrical projects, including DNO contestable works (11-33kV), renewable energy balance of plant works, and 66kV-132kV projects. You will be responsible for ensuring tenders are completed to time, budget, and in compliance with relevant standards and legislation. Key Responsibilities : Lead tendering for multiple or major projects, ensuring alignment with standards and regulations. Oversee costing, quotations, and project timelines, managing critical dates effectively. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards (e.g., HASAWA, NRSWA, C.O.S.H.H.). Identify commercial opportunities and report to senior management. Produce front-end programmes using project management tools. Conduct post-project reviews to assess financial and delivery performance. Collaborate with Major Projects teams to ensure efficient project implementation. Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, representing the company in meetings. Attend site surveys and ensure high standards of quality are maintained in all tendering work. Contribute to process improvements and ensure all work meets quality standards. Key Requirements : Degree or equivalent qualification in an electrical-related subject (HNC, HND). Minimum 3 years' experience in ICP or Major Projects at 33kV. Experience using Microsoft Project and CAD for site layouts. Strong understanding of HV electrical projects, ICP sectors, and statutory requirements. Familiarity with health and safety practices, risk assessment, and industry regulations. Proven ability to manage commercial projects in a multi-divisional environment. Desirable Skills : Experience in producing front-end programmes using project management tools.
