Associate Transport Planner (Civil Engineering)

GiPro is delighted to be working exclusively with one of the most recognised engineering consultancy in the UK who are experts when it comes to Transport Planning and Highways Design. Their presence already spans across three sites and are delighted to be opening their new state-of-the-art office in Birmingham! This role would initially be stand alone as they are looking to build to a team of 3-4 within 18 months. You will be heavily supported by their existing teams and directors. You will play key role in the development of the office and have the opportunity to build your own dream team!
Please note that this is not a role within Logistics but Civil Engineering.
The role:
Preparation of Transport Assessments and Transport Statements
Preparation of Travel Plans and Travel Plan Coordination
Preparation and presentation of technical data and drawings
Undertaking junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
Liaison with clients, contractors and local / national authorities, as required
To ensure that all assigned tasks / jobs are delivered on-time and to budget
To check the quality and accuracy of work produced by junior team members
Work collaboratively with the team and proactively support junior staff in developing their technical knowledge
Support Team Leaders in the delivery of comprehensive advice to clients on Highways & Transport matters from preliminary advice / feasibility work
Undertaking site appraisals/visits and designing surveys, through to providing input to written reports and presentational material
Have an active role in growing and establishing the Birmingham Office.
About you:
Degree in applicable subject; Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering
5+ years of experience of UK Transport Planning standards and processes
Member of Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (MCIHT)
Working experience / understanding of ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to clearly communicate findings from complex data
Ability to work easily and accurately with numbers
Confident written and verbal communication skills
