The Role
The Field Service Engineer role will initially compromise mainly of carrying out inspections of products and systems the company have installed with their customer base. These inspections will consist of:
1. Checking Gearbox Oil Levels
2. Checking alignments on gearboxes
3. Checking bolt tightness
4. Checking gaskets
5. Check critical welds on lifting mechanisms
6. Checking bearings/shafts for wear
7. Checking mechanical seals for leaks or wear
8. Checking limit switches
You will then be required to put together reports from these inspections which recommend any follow up servicing and repair work required.
You will also be responsible for carrying out PPMs on equipment under service contracts with customers.
The work will be spread throughout the UK, most of the inspection and service work will be carried out over one to two day visits to customer sites.
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Field Service Engineer role you will need:
9. Mechanical fitting skills
10. A keen eye for detail.
11. Some fabrication skills for repair work required.
12. The ability to fault find and repair on mechanical systems
13. Basic electrical fault finding exposure
14. To be happy to travel and work throughout the UK
15. To be commercially minded to spot new opportunities with customers when on site visits
