Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Shift Engineer Industry: Food Manufacturing Department: Engineering Reports to Maintenance Manager Location: Wincanton, Somerset Annual salary: £44,346.39 DOE Job Type: Full time -Permanent 39 Hours per week: The company work on a rotating double day shift pattern of mornings and afternoon shifts(with early finishes on a Friday's) - Mornings - Monday to Thursday 6am - 2pm, Friday 6am - 1pm. We’re working with a leading global food manufacturer who specialises in creating high quality food ingredients including marinades, Sauces, and Dressings Our clients business never stops innovating, and we’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Client's dynamic team to keep the magic flowing (and the machines humming) :) What You’ll Be Stirring Up Mechanical service, repair, replacement of - Motors, gearboxes, couplings, seals, pumps, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics etc. Machine Maintenance - Keep the machinery in tip-top shape. Mechanical Equipment - i.e Cutters, Mixers, Fillers, Packaging equipment, Conveyors, Weighers, Forming equipment, Refrigeration equipment, storage tanks, and Pumps Mechanical Improvements, supervision, and installations - of processing and packaging equipment. Make suggestions and propositions to improve the installations and to increase plant availability, quality and safety. Problem-Solving - Diagnose and fix any mechanical issues faster than you can say “marinade malfunction.” Efficiency Enhancements - Work your engineering magic to improve productivity and minimize downtime. Safety First - Uphold IOSH/NEBOSH standards, ensuring our operations are as safe as they are smooth. Performs certain measurements, adjustments, tests and calibrations. Identify and select suitable parts and spares for the task. Evaluate the possibility or the necessity of repairing or replacing components. Liaise with Parts Coordinator to obtain and maintain stock levels and stores accuracy. Where required, provide technical support to operators. Supports the projects department in the implementation of new equipment, plant or services. Respects company policy concerning hygiene and safety during activities. Key Ingredients we are looking for: Recognized qualification in engineering, apprenticeship or HNC/HND. Building Services Experience - Boilers, air handling plant, refrigeration Use of a CMMS Complex control systems Accurate root cause analysis of breakdowns and effective corrective action carried out. Welding experience: Preferably TIG and Arc Reads and interprets Mechanical schematics diagrams. Knowledge of different types of maintenance methodology; PPM, CBM, PM, TBM Experience with packaging and manufacturing machinery. Proven skills in Machine maintenance and troubleshooting. IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications – safety is always on the menu here. A hands-on approach and a knack for keeping production on track. Previous Food industry experience What’s On the Menu for You?
