Academics are currently recruiting for an exceptional Lead Teacher to join an innovative independent special school based in Hemel Hempstead. Since its founding in 2021, this independent special school has grown significantly and now operates across two successful sites, with plans for a third. The school serves students aged 7-14 (expanding to 16) and combines academic excellence with therapeutic support, helping students rebuild their confidence and rediscover a love for learning.
Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Teacher, you will:
1. Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons within a small class size of 4-6 students.
2. Work closely with a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants and therapeutic professionals.
3. Contribute to the development and growth of the school, including curriculum innovation and site expansion.
4. Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff to create a positive learning environment.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and proven experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN).
2. A deep understanding of autism, anxiety, and demand avoidance.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for making a difference in the lives of young learners.
4. The ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment tailored to each student's unique needs.
