Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme Teaching Personnel is seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time position starting immediately, running until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. Role Overview This role is ideal for a psychology graduate interested in gaining hands-on experience in an educational setting, particularly those considering careers in educational psychology, teaching, or mental health support. The successful candidate will work closely with students who require additional academic or emotional support, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Supporting students one-to-one and in small groups, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN), social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, or learning difficulties. Assisting teachers in delivering lessons and interventions, ensuring all students can engage with their learning. Helping to develop and implement individual support plans for students who require additional assistance. Encouraging students to develop confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation strategies. Working closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, and classroom teachers to support student progress. Assisting with classroom behaviour management and promoting a positive learning environment. Supporting students with exam preparation, coursework, and study skills. Observing and monitoring student progress, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff. Candidate Requirements: A degree in Psychology or a related subject (2:2 or above preferred). A keen interest in educational psychology, mental health support, and student well-being. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience working with young people (e.g., mentoring, tutoring, classroom support, youth work) is desirable but not essential. Salary & Benefits: Weekly pay between £419.25 - £500, depending on experience and responsibilities.
