Job Title: Logistics Team Leader
Salary: £33,892 rising to £37,568 when role objectives are reached
Contract: Full time & permanent
Location: Desford, Leicestershire
The Opportunity:
As a Team Leader in Logistics, you motivate our employees on our production line that build our world-class products. You proactively ensure resources are used effectively to meet targets while maintaining the highest safety standards.
What you will do:
As a Team Leader, you are accountable for, but not limited to:
1. Leading the team to meet the daily goals and continually monitoring and auditing Health and Safety, People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost metrics within your span of control as per business goals.
2. Championing safe working practices and undertaking training and further learning.
3. Generating and working on Continuous Improvement ideas for your assigned area using the Continuous Improvement (CI) process and maintaining the skills matrix for the team to 100% versatility, ensuring standard work is updated.
4. Participating in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs) for Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost within your team operation.
What You Can Demonstrate:
1. People: Coach, motivate, evaluate, and recognize employees. Understand the skills and experience of the team to highlight gaps and/or training/development needs and build high-performing teams.
2. Logistics Operations: Possess a good understanding of Logistics practices and knowledge of material systems.
3. Safety: Proactive in managing safety standards and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Foster psychological safety and team engagement, ensuring open communication and collaboration across diverse groups.
4. Process Improvement: Evaluate logistics methods and maintain focus, with team input, on promoting the continuous improvement of processes and products utilizing lean, Six Sigma, and driving innovation.
What You May Have:
* Previous supervisory experience
* A current Forklift Truck license
* BSC Certificate in Risk Assessment Level 2
* Relevant National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 2/higher or equivalent
