Wise Employment are recruiting for an experienced Electronic Field Service Technician within a well-established and highly reputable company within the Woolwich area of London.
Salary £29,900 - £32,400 plus Field Service Representative allowance equating to £2,000 per annum plus a Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%
Hours of work: 37 hours per week. Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 16:30, Friday 8:00 – 13:00.

Purpose of the role of an Electronic Field Service Technician: You will carry out inspection, installation, servicing and repair of various types of Medical, Dental & Veterinary equipment held across various MoD sites in the local area. You will need to plan scheduled equipment programs for the Medical Device Safety Service teams including liaising with customers. You will be responsible for diagnosis of faults to major component level and specification testing of all Medical & Dental equipment (both Mechanical and Electronic) using MoD publications and Manufacturers manuals.
Job description: You will be provided with a fully kitted out Van (including phone and laptop) in order to respond to breakdowns and emergency call-outs as soon as reasonably practical, taking into account priorities and customer target dates.
As an Electronic Field Service Technician, you will ensure that all Medical and Dental equipment is maintained to the correct standard and maintain and raise all the necessary maintenance and performance records as required in accordance with MoD publications. These consist of both manual and computer records for all work carried out on Medical & Dental equipment; including spares & defect reporting.
You will be responsible for the investigation, completion and maintenance of all associated assessments, inspections and checks and promptly report serious problems and issues that will prevent any maintenance from being completed at the required time.
You will report information back into the Management Information System and make on the spot engineering decisions on equipment’s, including withdrawal from use where patient or user safety is concerned.
Most work is carried out at the customer’s site, so you will be required to hold a full UK driving licence and maintain a high level of driving competence at all times when driving the vehicle.
Person specification
Recognised and relevant training/qualifications in an Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Military equivalent experience.
Full UK driving licence.
MoD Biomedical Engineering certificate or the willingness and agreement to attend a 10-week residential course (fully funded).
Security Clearance
This role requires you to have lived in the UK for the last 5 years as if successful, a Security Check (SC) security clearance will be required.
To achieve the higher salary, you will need to demonstrate your ability to meet the key criteria’s of the role by past experience and during the interview process.
