Own the Future, become a part of the team and join our Bolton Site as: Finance Assistant Reports to: Finance Manager In this position, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance Team by handling invoice processing, reconciliations, payment runs and maintaining accurate financial records within SAP. This role will involve VAT testing, resolving vendor disputes and ensuring compliance with financial and company policies as well as tax regulations. Additionally, the Finance Assistant will facilitate reporting, data analysis and identifying process improvements to enhance financial efficiency within the manufacturing sector. Your core responsibilities include: Accurately process purchase ledger invoices and expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies and timely approvals Perform regular reconciliations of supplier statements and bank accounts to maintain accurate financial records Assist in preparing and executing payment runs, ensuring all payments are processed accurately and on time Utilise SAP to maintain and update financial data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy Conduct VAT testing and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, receipts and invoices. Address and resolve vendor disputes promptly, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function and assist in implementing effective solutions Prepare financial reports and analyses using SAP to support decision-making processes Profile and Qualifications: A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred; however, candidates with relevant experience or certifications (e.g. AAT) will also be considered Previous experience in a finance or accounting role within the manufacturing sector is desirable but not essential Familiarity with invoice processing, reconciliations and payment runs is desirable Experience with SAP and strong skills in Microsoft Excel High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in resolving vendor disputes and identifying process improvements Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external vendors Strong time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
