Job Description
We are recruiting for a construction biased Project Manager to provide oversight and management of multiple fit out and improvement projects across a large scale estate portfolio in the Newcastle area. The role will also be consultative in nature and provide top down management of Fabric and M&E Projects within the estate to ensure planning, assessment, costing, compliance, and delivery are managed and centrally coordinated. The role is a contract position for circa 12 months (possible FTC options may be available).
While contracting, the PAYE rate is £32/hr based off a standard working week.
Construction Project Manager Requirements:
1. Oversee and manage contractor involvement and ensure all compliance and statutory requirements are upheld.
2. Operate as a focal point for the client in regards to multiple project delivery.
3. Experience in delivering projects to a variety of client groups, managing key client accounts, and providing a significant contribution to multi-disciplinary teams.
4. Lead day-to-day delivery of projects for funds, developers, occupiers, and support Directors on larger projects.
5. Select, appoint, and manage design teams in the development of design solutions, planning applications, and statutory approvals.
6. Administer complex building contracts, ensuring the compliance of contractors to the contract terms and conditions.
7. Assist with the compilation of tender documents and critical review of tender returns, contract negotiations, and client reporting.
8. Develop project documentation, schedules, programmes, risk schedules, and master budget.
9. Produce client reports to suit all stages of the projects.
10. Manage client relationships throughout the project cycle.
11. Experience in interpretation of contracts, design and implementation of change management, resolution of contractual disputes, design and implementation of project controls, contract correspondence, and close out of contracts.
12. Business Development both internally as a property consultant and externally with existing clients.
Requirements:
1. Ideally MRICS or similarly related Project Management qualification.
2. Knowledge of CDM's, compliance, and statutory requirements within the Construction/Projects environment.
3. A strong background in the delivery of project management for new build commercial buildings and significant refurbishment projects (particularly offices).
4. Experience of leading projects for a variety of clients and exposure to project management for large, complex schemes ranging from £2m to £50m.
5. A track record in delivering high-quality project management services from inception to completion.
6. Experience via Fabric, Building (Commercial) with some M&E overlap.
7. Proven in managing and developing client relationships.
8. Enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated.
9. Excellent verbal, numerical, and report/proposal writing skills.
10. Excellent time management and general organisational skills.
11. Flexible and able to work under pressure.
12. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Project, and Outlook.
13. Well presented with excellent communication skills.
14. Willing to become part of a dynamic and supportive project management team.
