Job Description This is a part time, term-time post and the salary will be pro-rata to the number of hours worked. If you are enthusiastic about working with children, and interested in working within an early learning and childcare centre then the Early Year’s Assistant post may be what you are looking for. Working collaboratively as part of the early year’s team you will be responsible for the supervision of children during the lunch period, and also undertaking laundry duties within the establishment. Experience of working with children (0-5) in an early year’s or school environment is essential. You will have good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, a friendly but firm approach and have the ability to use your own initiative as well as working to the instruction of the head of the establishment. You need to be flexible/adaptable and available during 10.50am – 2.00pm Monday - Thursday and 10.50am to 2.10pm on a Friday (or the hours defined by the head of establishment). Requirements This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
