The role
The University of Bristol wishes to recruit a highly skilled & qualified graduate to lead and deliver a project with Tod Technology, a world-leading designer and manufacturer of advanced composite structures for the marine defence industry situated on the Isle of Portland located on Dorset’s beautiful Jurassic Coast (where you will be based). This Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) position is funded through the KTP programme of the UKRI and includes a £4,000 training budget and 10% of your time dedicated to your personal development. You will have access to the University’s USS pension scheme, with generous employer contributions.
What will you be doing?
1. The project will develop a new process for designing and manufacturing advanced composite/polymer materials for the marine defence sector.
2. You will be the project lead, managing your own workload and ensuring outputs, including leading on meetings and workshops.
3. Direct problem-solving activities and your own learning.
4. You’ll have creative freedom to suggest changes and develop the project plan.
You should apply if
5. Higher degree in either Engineering or Chemistry (PhD preferred).
6. Strong chemical formulation skills.
7. Strong background in chemical or physical sciences and composite engineering.
8. Ability to work with modelling packages is desirable.
9. Eligibility to obtain M.O.D. Security Clearance (SC).
