Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Broughton (Onsite for the first month, then up to 2 days/week remote)
Pay Rate: £18.14 per hour PAYE | £24.00 per hour Umbrella
Contract: 12 Month
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join the Payroll team. This role focuses on the accurate running of end-to-end payroll processes for Airbus divisions in the UK, with additional responsibilities for executive payroll and share administration. You will also handle customer queries professionally via phone and email, ensuring a strong customer service focus.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accurately and timely manage all divisional payrolls from start to finish on a monthly basis.
* Ensure divisional payroll accounts with HMRC are correct, resolve imbalances, and manage third-party remittances.
* Provide expertise on complex payroll issues and queries, including maternity/paternity leave, shared parental leave, and sick pay.
* Fully understand and manage P11D and P60 processes for compliance with statutory regulations.
* Liaise with HMRC on Tax and National Insurance queries, maintaining a relationship with relevant stakeholders.
* Manage payroll administration for the executive population and share scheme administration across all divisions.
* Identify process improvements, work with stakeholders, and lead end-to-end implementation.
* Stay up to date with payroll legislation and communicate changes to the leadership team and wider organisation as needed.
* Support clients with change request submissions, perform testing, and ensure payroll compliance.
* Participate in ad-hoc projects by understanding client needs, operational impacts, and delivering relevant solutions.

Experience & Knowledge:
* Previous experience in a payroll environment.
* Proficiency in a computerised payroll system (SAP/Workday preferred).
* Knowledge of PAYE, SMP, SPP, SSP, Student Loans, Pensions, and other deductions.
* Proven experience in customer service, both verbal and written.
Qualifications:
* A recognised payroll qualification (CIPP or equivalent) is desirable.
* A-Levels or higher qualifications are advantageous.
