GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a secondary school in Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with students and is committed to helping them succeed. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to assist students with their studies, encourage active participation in lessons, and provide additional support where needed. You will help create a positive learning environment, ensuring students feel motivated and engaged in their education. As an LSA in a secondary school, what you have to do: Support students in the classroom to enhance their learning experience. Assist with one-to-one and small group activities to reinforce lesson content. Work closely with teachers to adapt resources and materials for different learning needs. Encourage students to develop independent learning skills and confidence. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. Help maintain a structured and engaging classroom environment. Promote good behaviour and a positive attitude towards learning. Support students in preparing for exams and coursework. Requirements: CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (preferred but not essential). Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting as a Learning Support Assistant. A degree in Psychology, Education or in a similar field. A patient, supportive, and adaptable approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to motivate and engage students. Understanding of classroom support strategies.
