New Job in Aberdeen - CMM inspector - Permanent An exciting opportunity to join a new team in a well-established National and International company at their Manufacturing facility in Aberdeen. As CMM (coordinate measuring machine) inspector you will play a key role in checking components against relevant documented specifications whilst providing a balance between cost-effectiveness and quality control. You will ensure that the equipment used is appropriate for the product, and the correct programs are developed, stored, selected and used to generate the required reporting content, accuracy and documented within the QMS. Reporting to the Cell Leader this role requires close working with the inspection team, NDE inspection, engineering support and the wider QA team. Responsibilities of the CMM Inspector: - Ensure all company policies surrounding material handling, health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met - Interpret or evaluate inspection measurements in accordance with applicable specifications, or procedures. - Review nonconforming product and determine and take the most appropriate action utilising all available data sources, experience and knowledge. - Program, operate and optimise the use of the CMM equipment provided on site. - Review and suggest existing and new products which are appropriate for CMM inspection - Review CMM equipment, tooling and process and identify efficiencies and improvements - Interpret the results of all methods of inspection. - Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the QC inspection of products or materials - Conduct pre-operation daily and other checks on equipment where required. - Prepare inspection reports - Raise and process NCR's as required and determine and take the most appropriate action, using all available relevant data sources. The CMM Inspector is required to have the following qualifications: - Educated to a good standard of high school education or equivalent (Essential) - Qualified or time served CNC machinist with working knowledge of Mitutoyo crysta Apex c & ZWICK 4150BK extended Rockwell tester (Desirable) Experience: - Advanced knowledge of CMM inspection, techniques, equipment, tooling, software and programming. - Ability to operate and program CMM equipment - Advanced knowledge and application of manual inspection equipment and techniques within a precision/oil and gas manufacturing environment - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings - Working knowledge of oil and gas regulations and product standards, such as API 6A, NACE, ASTM, etc (Desirable) The CMM Inspector will ideally have the follwoing skills & training: - Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook) - Ability to use, read internal, external, bore and stick micrometers, vernier callipers, height gauge, plug and ring gauges, etc. - Exposure to wireline sector of the oil and gas industry - Ability to use Gagemaker Mic-Trak system - Working knowledge of Risk and COSHH Assessment documentation.
