We are currently searching for a Head of Outbound Operations to join our warehouse team at our Currys site in Newark. You will be responsible for ensuring effective management of the outbound operation, ensuring operational and budgetary targets are met and stock accuracy and product availability is in line with our customers’ requirements, whilst minimising stock losses and achieving OTIF targets.
This is a full time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, this is a 24/7 operation, so you’ll need to offer a level of flexibility in terms of working hours – no two weeks are the same, this is logistics after all!

Key Responsibilities:
* Day to day management of the outbound operation, taking responsibility for all aspects of staff performance, including accuracy and process compliance.
* Identify areas of improvement within the relevant operational processes and manage operational constraints in partnership with the customer and GXO senior teams to ensure operational success at all times.
* Lead, coach and develop the operations team; responsible for all people processes during the lifecycle of an employee.
* Ensure environmental, health & safety requirements are met through compliance with H&S policy and standards.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
* Previous experience at a minimum of senior operations manager level, within a large, fast-paced warehousing environment with a strong knowledge of outbound operations, processes and systems.
* Experience of building strong working relationships with both internal and external customers and colleagues; you’ll be an effective influencer and communicator.
* Strong commercial acumen, with exposure to driving change and implementing a CI culture.
* People focussed leadership skills, able to positively engage, develop and empower others.
