Locum Trauma & Elective Orthopaedic Consultant Surgeon (Foot & Ankle)
Applications are invited for the above full-time post based within Trauma & Elective Orthopaedics at Nottingham University Hospitals. This post will be for a 6-month contract, with a potential to extend. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collegiate group of Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle surgeons to deliver tertiary elective services. They will also join the on-call trauma rota at the UK's busiest Major Trauma Centre, working alongside 26 other T&O consultant colleagues.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in diabetic feet, ankle and revision ankle arthroplasty, trauma, and deformity correction, with recognised fellowship training in Foot and Ankle surgery. Previous NHS employment experience is mandatory.
Interviews will be held at the City Hospital Campus on 23rd May 2025.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support the Elective Orthopaedic team at the City Hospital Treatment Centre and the Trauma and Orthopaedic team at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham. They will work within the Foot and Ankle team, sharing inpatient, outpatient, and diabetic foot management as part of a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the trauma on-call rota.
Attendance and contribution to the weekly Foot and Ankle MDT are expected.

Professional Registration (Essential)
* Full GMC registration
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT or CESR (CP), with proposed CCT/CESR (CP) date within 6 months of interview
* CESR or European Community Rights
Professional Qualifications/Development (Essential)
* FRCS (Orth) or equivalent
* Fellowship training in Foot & Ankle
Desirable qualifications
* Foot & Ankle experience within a Major Trauma Centre
* Postgraduate Diploma in foot & ankle (registered or completed)
Clinical Skills/Experience (Essential)
* Appropriate career progression
* Technical skills as per the job description
