This school prides itself on facilitating a friendly and safe environment for its students. The students at this school suffer from mental health difficulties stemming from anxiety and depression and have trouble regulating and processing their emotions.
What is involved:
1. As a Youth Mental Health Support Worker, you would primarily support these children with their emotional needs.
2. You will be working with these students on a 1:1 basis or in a small group setting.
3. Supporting the class teacher with general classroom duties.
4. Helping to manage behavior in the classroom.
5. Facilitating a fun and engaging learning environment.
What is required:
1. The successful Mental Health Support Worker will be an advocate for positive mental health.
2. As an individual, you will be caring and compassionate.
3. You will be ready to take on a new challenge and make a difference.
4. Resilient and confident, able to adapt to changing situations easily as the students have varying needs and educational plans.
5. Experience within mental health is desirable but not essential.
