The Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) invites applications from doctorally prepared candidates for a full- time, on-campus faculty position with primary teaching responsibilities within the School’s Master of Science in Nursing program. National Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGNP-PC/AG-PCNP) is required. The Duke Nursing community includes more than 90 full-time faculty members, over 120 staff members and approximately 1,000 students. The School offers five degree programs: ABSN, MSN, PGC, DNP and PhD. Well qualified applicants will be clinically experienced, demonstrate a commitment to teaching and practice, and be eligible for approval to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina. Candidates will be actively engaged in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP clinical practice for a minimum of one year. Two to three years of experience teaching at the graduate level and experience teaching and caring for populations in primary or adult specialty care settings are preferred. Candidates will also show evidence of a developed program of scholarship. Faculty appointment for this position will be made at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on either Track I (tenure earning) or Track II (a non-tenure earning practice/clinical track), depending on the candidate’s qualifications.
