The Role
We are looking to recruit a Charge Nurse to join the Community Learning Disability Services at Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters!
The Charge Nurse will be responsible for managing and delivering care to a defined caseload/group of clients/patients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Delivering/ensuring the application of the framework of the Nursing Process and use of case management as appropriate.
* Ensuring a high standard of quality client/patient care.
* Working in partnership with other disciplines and agencies.
The Charge Nurse has delegated responsibility for the appraisal, management, and clinical supervision of Registered Nurses, junior practitioners, and clinical support workers in the provision of care and treatment within a defined clinical service, under the management and leadership of the team leader/senior charge nurse or practitioner.
Contract type and Shift Pattern
* Band 6/Permanent/Full Time/37 hours
* Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm

What we'll need you to bring
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
* Postgraduate expertise within specialty/area of practice.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards.
* Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions and policies.
* Leadership skills for day-to-day management of service delivery.
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
* Excellent team-working/leadership skills.
* Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Effective time management skills.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
It would be good if you also had:
* Post registration experience within a relevant field.
* Completion of Suicide Prevention Training.
* Further training in leadership/education in mental health & LD.
* Broad spectrum of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities experience.
* Experience of working within community and acute wards.
* Working knowledge of Autism.
* Knowledge of current national policy and legislation.
* Evidence of further professional practice.
* Presentation and report writing experience.
