Fairfield General Hospital are seeking to appoint 3 part time Receptionists to work in the Accident and Emergency Department.
Shift Pattern 1– Monday 08:00am – 15:00 pm / Wednesday 15:00pm – 22:00pm / Friday 22:00pm - 06:00am = 20 hours
Shift Pattern 2– Saturday 08:00am - 15:00pm = 6.5 hours
Shift Pattern 3– Saturday 16:00pm – 22:00pm = 6 hours
The post holders will work as members of a team based in the Emergency Department and will be responsible for providing friendly, confidential, speedy, courteous and effective reception and registering service for patients, relatives and visitors attending the department.
This will involve registering and discharging patients on the emergency department IT system, GP OOH system, booking follow up appointments for various out-patient clinics and recording admission details on Patient Centre. In addition staff will deal with a range of face to face and telephone enquiries from nursing and medical staff, patients, relatives, GPs and external agencies providing general advice and information. A comprehensive range of administrative and clerical duties are undertaken.
The reception service operates 24 hours 7 days a week. All staff work flexible shifts, unsociable hours and public holidays and undertake additional duties to ensure an efficient and quality service is delivered. Reception staff may also be called in to work in the event of a major incident. During working hours, all reception staff are expected to follow the NCA infection prevention guidelines and wear a mask at all times.
