Financial Accountant - Stock
Location: Tachbrook Park, Warwick
Are you a driven finance professional seeking a new? We are currently recruiting for an Finance Accountant to join our Finance team and play a pivotal role in supporting the production of our management and statutory accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain the integrity of transactions within the General Ledger to ensure the accurate production of financial reports, particularly around margin and inventory.
2. Assist with the balance sheet account reconciliation process, ensuring reconciliations are performed and outstanding items are actioned in a timely manner. This role will focus on inventory management and KPIs.
3. Co-ordinate stock counts across the business, circa 60 sites, taking ownership for collating results and following up with sites to improve processes.
4. Calculate revenue, cost of gas and stock movement journals at month end, with an eye to continuously improve the estimations.
5. Work with the business to bring stronger links between sites and finance with regards to stock control. Using KPIs to add value to the business around working capital management.
6. Play a key role in the external audit process dealing directly with external auditors
7. To assist in the production of the UK Statutory Accounts. Ensuring UK Accounting Standards are adhered to whilst managing audit expectations on disclosures.
8. Reporting governance - coordination with parent company to ensure compliance with agreed reporting definitions and guidelines.
9. Support the new ways of working with enthusiastic participation and suggestions for improvements across the team. Work towards continuous review of processes identifying and implementing process improvements where necessary as we embed the new ways of working.
10. Involvement across the wider Finance team through participation in departmental initiatives
11. Undertake ad hoc projects in response to specific business needs.
Key Skills, Experience & Knowledge:
12. Qualified or working towards final stage of CIMA or ACCA qualifications.
13. Experience in a financial accounting environment.
14. Strong initiative and self-motivation.
15. Ability to challenge the status quo and seek improvement.
16. Effective communication skills at all levels.
17. Sound decision-making skills.
18. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
19. Attention to detail.
