Job Title: Freelance Site Supervisor – Earthworks Project
Location: Milton Keynes
Rate: From £200 - £220 per day
Contract: Freelance until Christmas

Project Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced and diligent Site Supervisor for a large-scale earthworks project based in Reading. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a critical infrastructure project, ensuring the smooth and safe movement of vehicles, materials, and machinery on and off the site.
Responsibilities:
1. Traffic Management: You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all lorry movements, ensuring effective traffic management across the site. This includes scheduling and directing lorries, mitigating traffic build-up, and coordinating with ground personnel to maintain smooth operations.
2. Health & Safety Compliance: You’ll ensure that all activities on-site comply with relevant health and safety regulations, promoting a safe work environment. You'll conduct regular checks, monitor safety protocols, and liaise with contractors to enforce strict adherence to site safety policies.
3. On-site Coordination: Working closely with the project management team, you’ll coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and sub-contractors to keep the site organized and efficient. You’ll ensure that the site operates to schedule, managing resources effectively to avoid any delays.
4. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of site activity, traffic logs, and safety inspections. You will be required to provide daily reports to the Project Manager, documenting any incidents or concerns that may arise.
Requirements:
1. CSCS Card: Essential for entry to the site, verifying your qualifications and competencies in construction.
2. SSSTS or SMSTS Certification: Demonstrates your training and ability to manage safety procedures and lead teams on-site.
3. Previous Earthworks Experience: Knowledge of earthworks, particularly with managing heavy vehicle movements, is highly desirable.
4. Attention to Detail: You should have a keen eye for detail to ensure compliance with regulations and efficient site operations.
5. Excellent Communication Skills: As the point of contact for lorry drivers and site personnel, clear communication is essential to maintain smooth operations and ensure everyone on-site follows safety and operational guidelines.
