We're currently looking for a People Relations Advisor to join our Rochdale Distribution Centre!
Job Title: People Relations Advisor (DC)
Location: Rochdale OL16 4GR
Working hours: 8:00-16:30 (Can be flexible around this)
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Provide practical and effective first line employee relations advice across the Distribution Centre, including timely and accurate advice regarding disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and family-friendly policies.
2. Manage queries empathetically and communicate outcomes clearly to minimize appeals.
3. Act as a team player with the wider People team by sharing knowledge.
4. Support and coach Line Managers to effectively manage and resolve employee relations matters.
5. Provide support to Line Managers and the wider People team.
6. Maintain an excellent working knowledge of up-to-date employment legislation and best practices.
7. Work autonomously and prioritize accordingly, with guidance from the People Relations management team when required.
8. Use Occupational Health appropriately within people relations casework and write referrals to OH Advisors.
9. Communicate with and support the People management team to ensure fair application of employee relations policies and procedures while identifying opportunities for improvement.
10. Understand the Group's responsibilities regarding statutory obligations.
11. Maintain clear audit trails for all People records in accordance with GDPR.
12. Support in executing critical weekly, lunar, monthly, and annual cycle People processes within relevant timescales.
What We're Looking For:
1. CIPD qualified to a minimum of Level 5; Level 3 may be considered with substantial relevant HR generalist work experience and a desire to gain Level 5.
2. Previous HR/People Advisor related experience is essential, with experience in a changing People environment and responsibility for managing high volume complex cases.
3. Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and People Relations policies and procedures.
4. Comfortable offering advice and minute-taking in formal meetings to ensure accurate documentation of interactions.
5. Good communication skills with the ability to guide, influence, and challenge current practices appropriately.
6. Able to communicate clearly with all stakeholders.
7. Proficient knowledge of Office365 and HR Systems (experience with CoreHR/PeopleXD is advantageous).
8. Accurate typing skills with attention to detail.
9. Proven experience of working within a constantly changing environment.
10. Flexible to work outside standard office hours if required to support a 24/7 operation.
