Job Overview
Saint Mary’s Newborn Services Division is one service across three sites; the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is based on the Oxford Road Campus (ORC) and the Local Neonatal Units based at Wythenshawe and North Manchester General Hospital. We have opportunities for Staff Nurses to join our team in one of our rotational posts, providing you with a great opportunity to develop your skills and experience in different clinical settings.
Main duties of the job
We specialise in providing care for a range of complex conditions such as:
1. Respiratory diseases
2. Renal conditions
3. Cardiac conditions
4. Neurological conditions
5. Babies requiring surgical care
6. Complex genetic and metabolic disorders
7. Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) screening and treatment

Essential criteria
1. Qualified registered nurse/midwife

1. Qualified in Speciality
2. Neonatal Induction Programme
3. Evidence of level 6 study
Experience
Essential criteria
1. Experience of working on own and as part of a team
Desirable criteria
1. Neonatal placement (including Spoke)
2. Experience within acute care setting
3. Desire to work within a neonatal setting
Skills and knowledge
Essential criteria
1. Ability to prioritise and organise workload
2. Good decision making skills
3. Effective communication skills
4. Ability to work under pressure
Desirable criteria
1. Evidence of wider reading around neonatal care
2. Evidence of drivers to neonatal care
