This exciting role will support the Renal and Surgical team to deliver therapy input to a wide range of inpatients. These patients are often complex and require intensive therapy input to optimise their functional ability and mobility. It will involve a lot of patient contact as well as some administrative tasks to help maintain an optimum patient journey.
Main duties of the job
1. To undertake specific skilled support work to aid both physiotherapists and occupational therapists in the assessment of patients.
2. To accept patients delegated by a therapist and manage a delegated caseload on a day-to-day basis.
3. To treat patients according to planned programmes and agreed treatment protocols as individuals or in groups.
4. To assist in drawing up the treatment programmes in conjunction with a therapist.
5. To monitor patient progression and make minor alterations to patient treatment programmes, consulting with the supervising therapist.
6. To report back on patient progress and inform the therapist of any problems.
7. To assist with administrative duties as required to support the team.
8. To support across the site as needs/workload require.
