Post: Fleet Maintenance Assistant

Applications are invited for the post of Fleet Maintenance Assistant based at Wynard.
If you have mechanical knowledge and experience of repairs and maintenance on a variety of motor vehicles, this could be the role for you. In post you will provide vehicle maintenance and logistical support to the Fleet Manager.
Duties will be varied and involve:
• Ensuring vehicles are legislatively compliant
• Diagnostic checks and fault finding
• Minor blue-light repairs such as swapping control modules, LED modules and fuses etc
• Decommissioning end-of-life police vehicles
• Visiting all police buildings to assist with vehicle maintenance
We are seeking candidates who have a proactive and dynamic approach, ensuring that problems and faults are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner. This position gives candidates the opportunity to contribute towards the smooth running of the Fleet Team, demonstrating their passion for Public Service, working in a role which enables officers to carry out their operational activities.
Whilst not essential, it would be advantageous to have fleet software experience and an ability to demonstrate risk management.
